In Singapore newspaper, there a rumor stated that Mat Kilau is dead. The Strait Times and The Free Press headline is showing "the leader to traitor, Dato Bahaman has fall to Siam during october 1895. The Free Press stated that Mat Kilau has fought when he was about to be conquer and the outcome of the battle is that he was injured at the face and the head. The injury was too deep and he die on the way to Kota Bharu because to much blood loss. with the death of Mat Kilau being published by The Free Press newspaper company during 22 octoer, 1895. Only some of Mat Kilau follower known what really happen, among the them are Mustafa bin Awang, Mat (Jusoh Rimau), Pendekar Tok Demali, Raja Ibrahim (Pak Him), Mat Kelantan nad few of others.
